Gage and Tague study accurate monitoring of mycophenolic acid in transplant recipients

Brian Gage, MD, MSc, Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics, and Laneshia K. Tague, MD, MSCI, Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, (primary PI) research on mycophenolic acid in lung transplant recipients has been published in the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.

The study used pharmacogenetics and penalized regression to develop a pharmacokinetic model of the therapeutic dose of MPA.

“Mycophenolic Acid (MPA) is the most used anti-proliferative drug after lung transplantation,” Dr. Gage shares. “The study demonstrates that a limited sampling strategy allows for accurate monitoring of mycophenolic acid in transplant recipients”.
